Our most valuable resource is our people. We are always looking for volunteers to join our team and help with a variety of needs. Join us!
We believe in diversity and with diversity comes different perspectives, interests, and skills. To meet our mission we need people on our team and the bigger our team the more we can do, and the more people we can reach. You don't need to be a first responder, medical provider, or instructor to bring value to ESO. We encourage anyone who wants to support first responders, medical providers, veterans, and the many public servants that make the American dream possible. Don't be shy!
Our team culture starts with this idea: we are all very busy and time is the most valuable commodity, so we must use our team's time effectively, and efficiently. Your work here will contribute to the mission and we want your effort to live on even when you move on to other endeavors.
By the nature of our mission and the people we choose to serve, we give our best and share our talents. Many of our team members are current and retired first responders and front line personnel, and if you are interested in joining those careers, what better place to contribute and gain networks?
We offer opportunities to grow your skills and certification without investing a ton of money. We offer instructor courses internally for some of our training brands and earn money when classes are taught. Team members are also able to attend and receive certification in our courses.
Currently, our entire team works on a volunteer basis, including our executives. We do provide compensation for some projects. Instructors who teach CPR, First Aid and other similar classes with us are compensated for classes taught to a paying customer. We do hold classes for free, and in those cases, we do not pay instructors.
We hope to offer compensation as we increase revenue and when we receive grants allowing for billable hours.
No, we do not require specific certifications or backgrounds to join our team. Unless it is a particular position with a job description, we would love to have anyone join our team who shares our passion for our mission. Please apply!
Yes! We do most of our work remotely through collaboration. We have some tools that make this easier. You can also work on projects at the time of day that works best for you in most cases. We use deadlines and have synchronous meetings, but a lot of the work can be done at 3 A.M. if that works best for you.
We do have a time commitment requirement of 1 hour per month in addition to team meetings. Your team or project leader will help coordinate time commitments. Everyone's life presents competing priorities often unexpectedly. Your team leader will work with you to reach our mission in the time you can give. Communication is the key.
Since much of our collaboration is done at a distance, frequent access to the internet is a requirement. We utilize a suite of software providing access to a company email assigned to you, cloud drive access, and typical programs for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, etc. Many of the programs we use can also be accessed via a mobile device like smartphone or tablet. We do not require a computer if you choose to use your mobile device to complete work. We are always in need of working technology donations so if you know of someone who can help, please direct our team to them.
