Use of Information Collected

Unregistered Visitors

Emergency Services Outreach, Inc. (ESO) collects both personal and non-personal identifying information from its unregistered visitors. The information collected is used to help us identify the efficiency of our advertising, to identify target markets and to enhance the efficiency and positive experience of our site.

Non-personal information is mainly collected automatically through cookies and other web technology. We also collect certain non-personally identifying information when you visit our website, such as such as the type of browser you are using (e.g., Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer), the type of operating system you are using (e.g., Windows XP or Mac OS), the access platform (e.g., mobile), the domain name from which you receive Internet access, your IP address, and aggregate information regarding what pages consumers access or visit.

Personal information is collected when an unregistered visitor enters their information, which may be personally-identifying, in forms initiating contact between the visitor and ESO. Examples include the “Contact Form” and “Blogs”. Information includes general contact information like name, mailing address, phone number, occupation, license level, affiliated employer, etc. This information is collected so that we can contact you.

Unregistered visitors may make donations to ESO through the website without actually becoming registered users. Regardless of their registration status, this information (e.g., card number, holders name, etc.) is used solely for the purpose of processing the transaction through our payment processing gateway. Card numbers and security codes are never saved. 

Registered Visitors

In order to access secure areas of our website, primarily the online learning portal, you will be required to create, maintain and enter your username and password. To provide educational services ESO has requirements set forth by the accrediting bodies that allow us to award certification. This includes professional license types, license numbers, expiration dates, etc. Your license numbers and expiration dates are maintained for auditing purposes and will only be released to accrediting bodies for records verification (e.g., CECBEMS, state EMS licensing bodies).

Security

ESO takes its security seriously. Our servers are housed in a secure, physically guarded site. ESO’s servers and sites have industry standard procedures in place to safeguard against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction of the information under our control.

Personal information collected from visitors is protected by encryption in transmission to our websites with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. Emergency Services Outreach, Inc. abides by all laws concerning the release of personal information and does not sell or rent any personal information to third parties, except as described below.

Although we take appropriate measures to safeguard against unauthorized disclosures of information, we cannot assure you that personally identifiable information that we collect will never be disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with this Privacy Policy.

Disclosure or Transfer of Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to (i) third parties who perform tasks on the Emergency Services Outreach’s behalf, (ii) to our prime partners so that we may offer customers products and services relevant to the course of their job, and (iii) to other third parties engaged by ESO in the ordinary course of business provided that the third party agrees (1) to provide adequate protections for your personal information that are no less protective than those set out in this privacy policy, and (2) to use the personal information only for the purposes for which the third party has been engaged by ESO.

We may also disclose personally identifiable information in response to valid legal process such as a court order or a subpoena, in response to a law enforcement agency's request or where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our terms of use, or as otherwise required by law. In addition, we may transfer information about you if we are acquired by or merged with another company, or if our assets are acquired by another entity.

This privacy policy only applies to information collected on www.esoeducation.org , http://elearning.esoeducation.org and esoeducation.org sub-domains. We strongly encourage you to review the privacy policy of each website you visit.

Changes in Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is current as of the effective date set forth above.  ESO reserves the right to change this privacy policy from time to time consistent with applicable privacy laws and principles. Updates to the Privacy Policy will be announced via the websites.
