Ranchito de la Redención is a nature-based mental health retreat in the Manzano Mountains of New Mexico. This nonprofit project provides a calming, land-based environment where individuals and families can heal, reconnect, and find community through nature and equine-assisted interactions.

Across our communities, mental health challenges are rising, especially among those who serve others and in underserved populations.

Many residents of rural New Mexico struggle to access quality mental health and wellness programs; Ranchito offers an accessible refuge close to nature.

Young people, including homeschoolers, need safe, unstructured time in nature to build resilience, curiosity, and connection.

Inclusive facilities ensure that people with disabilities can experience the healing benefits of outdoor engagement.

By stewarding forested land responsibly, Ranchito helps reduce wildfire risk while modeling sustainable land management.

Surrounded by the natural beauty of New Mexico, the ranch uses gardens, trails and quiet open space to foster mindfulness, recovery and holistic well‑being.
Interactions with gentle horses provide opportunities for emotional regulation, trust‑building and personal growth under trained facilitators; no riding experience required.
Facilities and trails are designed to be ADA-accessible, ensuring that people with physical and sensory disabilities can enjoy meaningful nature experiences.
A commitment to sustainable land management, water conservation and wildfire mitigation promotes healing of both people and the land.

Dedicated to those on the front lines, offering a peaceful refuge for first responders and healthcare workers to process stress, trauma, and restore well‑being through nature and equine interactions.
Providing a supportive retreat for veterans and their families to reconnect, recover from stress and trauma, and build community in a tranquil rural setting.
Offering hands-on nature education and safe spaces for youth and homeschool students to explore, learn, and grow resilience through outdoor experiences.
Ensuring accessible, adaptive programs and spaces for children and adults with physical, sensory, and intellectual disabilities to heal and enjoy the outdoors.
