Thanksgiving Meal Resources for Albuquerque’s Homeless

Happy Thanksgiving!

If you or someone you know is in need of a hearty meal today the below resources are all operating to help feed families and individuals in Albuquerque that are homeless or otherwise in need this Thanksgiving. Please share with your patients for those of our people on duty today!

Thanksgiving Day Schedule


Thanksgiving Day (Thursday)

  • The Rock at Noon Day will be closed
  • Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless (AHCH) will be closed
  • Sunrise (6:50 am) – “Circle of Remembrance” in the Peace & Justice Center parking lot (Harvard & Silver SE) – to remember and honor indigenous peoples
  • 8:30 to 9:30 am – Thanksgiving brunch at Good Shepherd Center
  • 9:45 to 10:45 am – Thanksgiving meal at HopeWorks – they will be open 7:00 am to 12:00 noon only
  • 10:00 am to 2:00 pm –Thanksgiving meal at Salvation Army Temple, 501 Broadway SE

(& Lead)

  • 11:00 am to 2:00 pm – Thanksgiving meal at La Mesa Presbyterian Church, 7401 Copper NE (north of Central, east of Louisiana) – Clothing will be given out beginning at 10:00 am
  • 2:00 to 4:00 pm – Thanksgiving dinner at Joy Junction

November 23 (Friday)

  • Homeless services: HopeWorks will be open 7:00 am to 12:00 noon only, serving a meal 9:45 am to 10:45 am; all other sites (The Rock at Noon Day, Albuquerque Healthcare for the Homeless, Good Shepherd Center, and others) will have regular schedule

Sean P. Haaverson has been involved in Emergency Services since 2000 when he started out as a volunteer fire fighter in Bernalillo, New Mexico. Over the span of his career he has experience working in multiple levels of emergency services: dispatch, rural and urban EMS, hospital care, austere and remote duty medicine, flight medicine, administration and teaching. He is currently a licensed Paramedic with certification in Critical Care and Remote Duty Medicine. Sean holds a BAAS degree focused in Emergency Management and Emergency Medical Services Management. Sean serves as the co-founder and President/CEO of Emergency Services Outreach and the Center for Advanced Medical Training. He is also the National Association of EMT’s State Advocacy Coordinator for New Mexico.
