A coalition to help expand the impact of emergency medical services to New Mexican’s
Founded in 2012, the New Mexico Community EMS Coalition (NMCEMS) is a standing meeting of stakeholders with interests in helping address community health needs with existing Emergency Medical Services resources. The coalition meets quarterly with all of its meetings open to the public!
The mission of the Community EMS Coalition is to advance the specialty of Community EMS in New Mexico in a manner that meets the needs of the diverse population of patients and providers throughout the state.
1.) Provide a forum to share the findings of current CEMS initiatives for the benefit of all CEMS programs, current and future.
2.) Act as a ‘think tank’ to discuss the face of the specialty as the healthcare environment in New Mexico and nationally changes in its dynamic state.
3.) Advocate for the advancement of the specialty through stakeholder engagement, both internal and external, and education of local and state lawmakers.
4.) Establish funding sources for the sustainability of the specialty.
5.) Provide alignment of the specialty to healthcare needs.
Community EMS is the use of Emergency Medical Services resources in roles outside of the normal role of an Emergency Medical Technician.
Our meetings are open to the public and have a teleconference line available for each meeting to make it convenient to attend from your desk! Please contact Sean Haaverson to RSVP and receive the code and dial-in number for the specific meeting.
The next meeting of the coalition is TBA
